The BC of YRB, Ms. Sun Feng, is calling for a meeting with participants of projects in CPWF Phase I to discuss how to go further and contribute to other basins in coming CPWF Phase II.

The meeting is planned under the context of the CPWF working plan in Phase II and the materials generated in IFWF2. On one hand, CPWF Phase I has been conducted for 5 years in Yellow River Basin, during which three projects, PN12, PN16 and PN42 were implemented or finished and another two more projects just started. Due to the impressive achievements in YRB combining the outcomes of CPWF-cored three projects and those of other scientific researches conducted by Yellow River Conservancy Commission (the administration organization of YRB), the rich experiences and knowledge regarding river basin management were suggested by the participants of YRB session during IFWF2, being held in Addis Ababa, to be introduced and disseminated to other basins in CPWF Phase II. On the other side, the focus of YRB?s role in CPWF Phase II will switch to technical support and providing according to CPWF working plan in Phase II.

The call-for has been sent to the co-project leaders of three projects and the tentative meeting date is Dec 24-25, 2008, held in Zhengzhou, China.
